English. Birch trees stand for life, flexibility, change, and new beginning. The word comes from the Old High German expression ´Bircha´or ´bjork´ in Old Norse. Both terms arise from the ancient Indian term ´bhurgas´, which basically means radiant shine. An interesting starting point for shifting ideas from nature outside to cultural adaptation inside.
